Interview for Amazon’s BI Engineer – Amazon, like many other businesses, has a set of core ideas that they call “Leadership Principals.” A big part of the interview depends on how well you can describe situations that show how you live by these core values.
Interview Procedures for Amazon’s Business Intelligence Engineer Position
So, here’s what you can expect during the process:
1. Recruitman
You’ll start with a 30-minute call with a candidate to find out more.
The recruiter’s goal here is to see if you might be a good fit for the job at a high level.
Most of the time, these screening calls are conversational, and you’ll have a lot of chances to ask questions about the job.
Be ready to talk about your past jobs, why you want to work at Amazon, and why you are interested in this role.
2. Manager Team
Most of the time, this is a 45-minute video call. You will talk with either the Hiring Manager or another team member.
This is your chance to really get into the role, so think of some good questions. Most of the time, this call will be about your past work experience. The interviewer wants to know if you have the specific skills and competences needed for the job.
3. Full round with four to six talks
Most of the time, your last loop will be four to six 45-minute talks.
Depending on where you are, you might also be able to have an hour-long lunch with a team member.
The interview will focus on judging you in two main areas: your knowledge of the field, which is needed for the job, and your cultural fit, which is how well you match up with the Amazon Leadership Principles.
Often, the same scenario-based questions are used to test both areas at the same time.
“Can you give me an example of a time when you took something complicated and made it easier to understand?”
Before you answer these questions, try to figure out which Leadership Principles, if any, the interviewer wants to know about.
Most of the time, each discussion will be about two or more of the Principles. To do well business intelligence engineer, you need to give a short, well-organized example from your own life that shows how the idea in question works.

4. Talking about an offer
